…it’s been quite a while since I blogged last. Work is keeping me busy and there was the Open Air Metal Festival I went to in August – Bloodstock in UK. I enjoyed it A LOT! My personal highlights, in no particular order were: Saxon, Carcass, The Haunted, Kreator, Amon Amarth, Sabaton and Satyricon. Oh yeah, and Europe was the headliner. No comment. :P

Free Ubuntu Books for LoCo Teams
In the meantime, the Irish Ubuntu LoCo got the free Ubuntu books. Thanks Heather, Jono!

Ubuntu books

These are going on their tour among the Ubuntu-ie LoCo members starting tomorrow, September 3rd at the famous ‘Pint of the Day’ in Dublin.

September PotD, Dublin
This month’s PotD with a bit of a twist… Before heading to the usual location – The Longstone Pub, to join the Irish Linux User Group, Ubuntu-ie LoCo members are going to grab some food in Jimmy Chungs (Chinese buffet). I hear some are looking forward to the the self-service ice-cream machine. ;)
Apart from the usual Ubuntu/Linux/Free/OpenSource related topics we’ll also talk about Ubuntu Global Jam ‘09 – venue, advertisng, organization etc.

Ubuntu Global Jam
You can get your blog badges and banners on the Global Jam wiki.

The Art of Community
This week I’ve also received the free copy of Jono Bacon’s book ‘The Art Of Communit‘ and distributed the download link on Ubuntu-ie maling list. Thanks Jono!

OSS BarCamp / Software Freedom Day
And last but not least, one of the most important events for us, here in Dublin is the OSS BarCamp taking place on Saturday, September 19th at DIT Kevin Street Campus. What a great way to celebrate the Software Freedom Day!
