SFD event in Dublin – success!
A good few weeks of preparations for the 1st bigger Software Freedom Day event in Dublin has paid off, and in my opinion it’s paid off very well.
All the talks and after-talk discussions were great. I especially enjoyed Glenn Strong’s talk “DRM and Software Freedom” as well as John Looney’s “Open Source Engineering in Google”.
We had a good mixed crowd of people, some stayed for the whole day, some came for 1 or 2 talks and others came to ask for assistance with their machines. Days like this have a great impact on local FLOSS community integration.
The celebrations continued at The Longstone Pub.
You’ll find a few more pictures on my flickr.
IT WAS A GREAT DAY !!!
On behalf of ubuntu-ie I would like to thank Elevate Learning for sponsoring the auditorium and all the groups and speakers for their participation.
