Ubuntu advocacy images – pl Version

Posted in Community, Ubuntu, Uncategorized by Mean-Machine on January 29, 2008

Philip Newborough has created a few very nice Ubuntu advocacy images.

They’re already available in 6 languages: English, Japanese, Dutch, Italian, Portugues and Spanish.

I gave it a go as well and translated them into Polish:

Firefox i Ubuntu

F-Spot i Ubuntu GIMP i Ubuntu

OO.org i Ubuntu Pidgin i Ubuntu

Rhythmbox i Ubuntu Meta Tracker i Ubuntu

Download the Polish Version set here or go to Philip’s blog

    Hi MeanMachine :)

Thank you for the translation. Would it be possible to save the images as PNG files? That way the transparency will work. Basically, if you could open the original GIMP image, perform the translation and then save, keeping the original file name but changing the extension from .xcf -> .png

If you could do this then it would be a great help and I’ll then be able to upload the images with the other translations – with credit and a link back to this post :)

If you need them the original GIMP files can be found here:

    Thanks again,

    Philip

    Hey Philip,

the images are in fact .png, unfortunately flickr handles them as .jpg

After posting them on http://czytelnia.ubuntu.pl the community suggested few corrections to the translations, so just let me do this and I will post the link with the .png files.
